New govt withdraws names recommended by erstwhile govt for NA

KATHMANDU: The incumbent government has withdrawn the names recommended by the erstwhile government for the remaining three seats at the National Assembly.

A Cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to take back names of Chandani Joshi, Krishna Prasad Poudel and Gopal Basnet, forwarded by Sher Bahadur Deuba government to the President for appointment to the National Assembly.

The recommendation was under observation at the President's office when the government decided to call back the names. Oli government will likely forward three new names as the members for the remaining seats at the National Assembly.

The National Assembly comprising of 59 members has 56 elected members while three members are appointed by the President on recommendation of the council of ministers.
