New party to fight for
Kathmandu, November 28:
The president of the Aadibashi Janajati Party (AJP), Surrendra Lama, said at a press conference held here today that his party, which was registered at the Election Commission (EC) on November 8, will boycott the municipal elections. After passing through a lot of hurdles, the AJP was registered at the EC on November 8, he said.
Stating that EC officials had raised a number of illogical questions, Lama said: “The EC agreed to register the party after five rounds of talks.” The AJP will fight for a federal government with regional autonomy, he said, adding: “Proportionate representation of ethnicities, inclusive democracy and secular state are our guiding principles.”
