KATHMANDU: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a waste land at Attarkhel, Gokarneshwor Municipality on Sunday.

A special team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Sector, Gokarna had reached the site to rescue the baby.

The baby has been sent to Kanti Children’s Hospital, Maharajgunj for medical care. Police said health of the newborn was normal.

Investigators suspected that the baby might have been born of an illicit relationship. Police are searching for the baby’s parents.
