Bhaktapur, February 26:

The Rural Development Society Nepal (RDSN), an NGO, recently helped construct 29 latrines in the rural areas of Madhyapur Thimi municipality. The organisation also plans to construct other 75 latrines at Nagadesh of Bhaktapur, according to executive director of the organisation, Rupa Shakya.

She said the organisation received financial support from the Australian embassy, adding the construction was a part of the organisation’s sanitation programme in rural areas of Madhyapur Thimi.

The organisation provided cement, pipe and technical assistance while locals contributed other materials and labour.

The organisation had also recently conducted a two-day training on organic and off-season vegetable production for 22 farmers, including 15 disabled persons, at Nagarkot.
