Nirupama Yadav is Sajha Party's Dy Mayor candidate in KMC

KATHMANDU: Sajha Party has announced to field advocate Nirupama Yadav as the candidate for Deputy Mayor in the elections in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

She, however, will contest the elections as an independent candidate along with the party's mayoral candidate Kishore Thapa, a retired secretary who is architect and urban planning expert.

Born in Saptari, brought up in Banke and married off to Morang, the 39-year-old now resides in KMC-14 and works in Kathmandu, according to the party.

Without mentioning the other party's name, Sajha Party said it had delayed the announcement of Yadav's candidacy, considering possibility of election alliance.

It has been learned that negotiations were made for an election alliance between Sajha Party and Bibeksheel Nepali Party. But the negotiations did not materialise.

Bibeksheel Nepali Party has fielded 21-year-old Ranju Darshana, a student and activist, as its mayoral candidate.
