No Constitution amendment to serve 'others' interests', says Oli
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said Nepal's Constitution could not be amended for agenda of others.
Inaugurating the Motidevi Elderly Citizens' Housing at Nagarjun Municipality-10 in the Capital on Saturday, the main opposition leader said that an amendment to the Constitution must be acceptable to all Nepalis.
Questioning why efforts had been made to amend the charter against Nepalis' desire, Oli also accused the incumbent government of leading the country towards conflicts.
The immediate past Prime Minister said the Constitution was written by making various compromises, therefore many questions regarding acceptability of the Constitution had been raised in the country and also abroad at present.
Vice-Chairman of the party Ashta Laxmi Shakya and the Nepali Congress lawmaker Dhyan Govinda Ranjit, among others had also addressed the function.
