NVC raid reveals truant employees in govt offices

Kathmandu, March 23:

National Vigilance centre (NVC) today carried out surprise checks at different government offices where they found the condition of most of the offices unsatisfactory and many staffers absent.

The centre had carried out surprise checks at Rastriya Banijya Bank’s central office, Rastriya Bema Sansthan, Health Service Department and Bagmati transport office.

According to the centres, 70 staffers — 30 officers and 40 assistant level staffers — of the Rastriya Banijaya Bank were absent from the office during the check. The centre reported that the office was dirty and mismanaged.

At Bema Sansthan, 26 staffers were absent while many of them were absent for a long time. Likewise at the Health Service Department, 41 staffers — most of them officers — were absent.

The worst situation was at the transport management office where there was no facility for drinking water, furniture were in a disarray and 22 staffers were absent.
