Kathmandu, February 7

The Office of the Controller of the Examinations has geared up preparations for the School Leaving Certificate examinations, which is scheduled to begin from March 31 this year.

The OCE has already collected applications from SLC students, designated exam centres and published examination schedule. OCE said printing of question papers for the examinations will begin at the Janak Education Materials Center within a day or two.

According to Khagendra Nepal, examination controller, it would take around a month to print all the question papers for the examinations.

“We have already designated exam centers across the country and dispatched answer sheets to around 50 districts,” he said, adding that over 600,000 students will appear in the SLC examinations this year.

OCE has designated 1,943 exam centres for more than 600,000 SLC examinees. “We have already collected the details of students from Tarai districts, where the ongoing agitating had disturbed the academic calendar affecting studies of tens of thousands of students,” said Nepal.

He claimed that preparations for the examinations were going on smoothly.

The OCE is also going to provide admit memo to students to minimise errors while publishing the results.

This is the first time, the OCE is introducing admit memo. “The admit memo would include name of student, symbol number, school’s name and the subjects for which s/he sat the test, among other things.”

The admit memo would be provided to examinees on the last day of SLC examinations, he said.

He further said that the examinees could lodge an application at their respective District Education Office if there is any mistake in their details so that the OCE could avoid the mistake while publishing the results.
