KATHMANDU: A person was killed and another injured after the motorcycle they were riding on met with an accident in Maharajgunj of KMC on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Karki (21) of Budhanilkantha in the district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 73 Pa 1882) rammed onto a truck (Na 6 Kha 5216) that was parked in front of the TU Teaching Hospital at 1:30 am yesterday, killing rider on the spot and injuring the pillion rider.

The identity of the pillion rider who appears to be in his 20s is yet to be established and is undergoing treatment at the Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Maharajgunj-based Metropolitan Police Circle has impounded both the vehicles for further investigation and search is on for the absconding truck driver, said police.
