KATHMANDU: A person died after a motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a car in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-8 on Thursday, said police.

The identity of the deceased who appears to be in his mid-20s is yet to be established.

According to police, the incident occurred when the Car (Ba 8 Cha 8723) rammed the motorcycle (Ba 86 Pa 9322) from behind on the premises of Balkumari Tourist Bus Park, injuring the motorcyclist yesterday.

The critically injured motorcyclist was rushed to the Gwarko-based B & B Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
