KATHMANDU: Nepal Police's Metropolitan Police Crime Division said it has arrested a man in possession of a leopard hide from Mitranagar-based Uttam Lamjung Guest House in Gongabu, KMC-29 on Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Bhakta Bahadur Gharti Magar aka Bharat (48) of Nayagaun, Pyuthan.

Acting on a tip-off that some people had gathered at the Uttam Lamjung Guest House to strike a deal on the leopard hide, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) carried out a raid and arrested Magar with the contraband.

Police said Magar has been sent to the District Forest Office, Hattisar, for further investigation and action.
