Opaque windscreens banned

KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Traffic Police Division on Monday decided to ban the use of opaque windscreens and stickers on vehicles, as per a Home Ministry order.

According to MTPD, the ban was enforced again following an increase in criminal activities. The regulation was effected during the insurgency period.

Opaque windscreens helped criminals engaged in murder, abduction and robberies give cops the slip, the traffic division maintained. MTPD will take stern action against anyone using such windscreens and stickers. Home Ministry's permission is required for using opaque windscreens and stickers, an officer at the MTPD said.
