Outgoing Chinese envoy pays farewell call on President
KATHMANDU: Outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai has paid a farewell call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the latter's office, Sheetal Niwas, on Sunday.
On the occasion, Bhandari and Chuntai expressed views on cultural, economic and trade relationships between the two neighbouring nations, according to a statement issued by the President's Office.
Meanwhile, President Bhandari also thanked China and its people for their support to Nepal including in rescue, search as well as reconstruction efforts during and after the devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015.
President Bhandari also lauded Chuntai for his contribution to promotion of bilateral relations during his stay in Nepal.
Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong is expected to join office by late October or early November.
