Pakistan Embassy organised a flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of 84th National Day of Pakistan at the Embassy of Pakistan, in Kathmandu, on Saturday.

Pakistan Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi hoisted the National Flag of Pakistan during the event.

During the ceremony, messages from the Pakistani President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion. In his message, Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan recalled the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and sacrifices of the forefathers in achieving an Independent State for Muslims while, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended felicitations to Pakistanis at home and abroad on 'Pakistan Day'. Similarly, the press release issued by the Pakistan embassy stated that Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar greeted Overseas Pakistanis and urged the compatriots to continue to excel in their chosen fields, vocations and enterprise; for their success, achievement and excellence lies the country's development and progress.

In his remarks, Ambassador Abrar H Hashmi recalled the determination and resolution of Muslims in 1940 and continuation of struggle to make Pakistan prosperous. He greeted the guests and highlighted key aspects of close Pakistan-Nepal relationship and endeavours being made by the Mission for further strengthening this bond, according to the press release.

Pakistani Community in Nepal, friends of Pakistan and officials of the Embassy and their families attended the ceremony.
