Panel formed to end outages
Kathmandu, February 10:
Minister for Water Sources Gyanendra Bahadur Karki today formed a seven-member committee to find out best possible way to reduce load-shedding hours.
“A committee, headed by Dipak Upadhyaya, a manager of Nepal Electricity Authority, was formed today. It will study the situation and provide a recommendation to the government in seven days,” said Anup Upadhyaya, spokesperson for the ministry.
Other members of the committee include Chiranjibi Sharma Paudel and Sher Singh Bhat of the NEA and Rohini Thapaliya, Prakash Shrestha and Surendra Bir Malakar representing the entrepreneurs.
Sundar Shyam Shrestha, senior divisional engineer at the ministry, will serve as member-secretary of the committee. The committee was formed after industrialists met Karki and the parliamentary committee directed the minister to put an end to load-shedding.
