KATHMANDU: The Department of Passport is set to begin online pre-enrolment service.

Preparation is on to start the service within 15 days so that the service recipients can submit their details for passport online, said Department's Director General Lok Bahadur Thapa.

The applicant will receive a bar code and a number after submitting the form online and the passport process will start when the passport applicant goes to the Department with the number, he added.

Thapa was quoted by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying that it would reduce costs, avert procedural hassles and ease functions of the Department.
