Petrol crisis persists

Kathmandu, November 21:

Despite the price hike aimed at keeping the petrol shortage at bay a few weeks ago, the NOC could not manage adequate supply of petrol to meet the demand.

Only 128 kilolitres (KL) of petrol was brought into the Valley today while the demand is around 200 KL, said Shiva Prasad Ghimire, president , Nepal Petroleum Dealer’s Association.

He said 250 metric tonnes (MT) of LPG has entered the market. The demand for LPG is 950 MT a month. Meanwhile Bachchu Kafle, deputy managing director, NOC, said NOC was trying to obtain loans from banks to pay dues to the IOC.
