Pillion rider killed in Nagdhunga scooter mishap
KATHMANDU: A woman died and two others sustained injuries when a container truck hit a scooter near the Nagdhunga Check Post in Chandragiri Municipality-2 on the western outskirts of Kathmandu on Sunday.
Apsara Bhatta (37), the wife of scooter rider Bishnu Bhatta (41) from Battar-4 of Nuwakot, died while she was being rushed to the Balkhu-based Star Hospital after the accident.
Bishnu is undergoing treatment at the same health facility.
Their seven-year-old son Amit has been referred to the Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital.
Earlier, the container truck (Na 3 Kha 7753) had hit the two-wheeler the trio were on (Ba 72 Pa 9139), injuring all three.
Meanwhile, police arrested the vehicle driver and impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
