KATHMANDU: A person died and another sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were riding on collided with a tipper in Tinkune of KMC-32 on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as pilliion rider Rajiv Shrestha (22) of Kausaltar  and motorcyclist Manish Silwal (21), both the residents of Bhaktapur.

The incident occurred when the tipper collided head on with the motorcycle (Ba 69 Pa 7025) fatally injuring its pillion rider Shrestha in Tinkune last night, said police.

Shrestha was rushed to the Maitighar-based Annapurna Neuro Hospital where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, added police.

Police have impounded the motorcycle and detained Silwal for the investigation.

Meanwhile, search is on for the tipper and its driver  who fled the scene immediately after the incident, said police.
