Pillion rider killed as truck hits motorcycle in Naikap
KATHMANDU: At least one person died and another sustained injuries when a motorcycle collided with a truck in Naikap of Chandragiri Municipality-14, in Kathmandu on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as local Nirmala BK who was riding pillion on the two-wheeler.
According to police, the truck (Na 5 Kha 9014) had hit the motorcycle (Ba 46 Pa 438) and injured its riders.
Critically injured BK breathed her last while being rushed to the Bir Hospital, said police.
Meanwhile, police have impounded the truck and are looking for the truck driver who fled the scene after the incident.
In another case, an infant died after being hit by a vehicle (Ba 3 Ka 209) in Galfutar of Kathmandu.
The deceased has been identified as 18-month-old son of Raju Tamang of Narjamandap-5 in Nuwakot district, currently residing in Galfutar.
Critically injured Tamang died during the course of treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj today, said police.
