Some of the emerging litterateurs have expressed the need to document the history of Nepali literature which is simply impossible without a collective effort.

Keshari P Amgain, an emerging litterateur, proposed to document the history of Nepali literature at an interaction organised here yesterday. "There is a dire need to maintain the records of Nepali literature as many precious pieces written decades ago have been either destroyed or forgotten," said Amgain.

According to him, the study of Nepali literature in schools and colleges, has been taken only with the view of passing examinations. He also said that some of the documents on Nepali literature are also not correct. Such minor mistakes can create problems while keeping records in future. He also pointed out that history books at present have omitted many important creations which is not fair. If due importance is given to deserving litterateurs then many talented people would be encouraged to come up with good literature. "Historical analysis of literature is essential to encourage budding talents and discourage malpractices in this field," he said. However, this can be possible only through collective effort.
