PM confides to Prez on HLPM slight

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal called on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter’s residence in Shital Niwas, Maharajgunj on Tuesday.

According to sources, the PM briefed the President on the latest political issues like the constitution drafting and peace processes along with the PLA fighters’ integration process and the Copenhagen Summit work plan for the country. The President expressed his concern over the Sankalpa Prastav, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala’s controversial statement for the change of guard and reactivation of Vice President Parmananda Jha’s post.

In the context of the High-Level Political Mechanism, the PM expressed his dissatisfaction over its role and even his involvement as an invitee member. He stated that it would create a new power centre rather than resolve the main priorities of the nation.
