KATHMANDU, MARCH 27

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has attended Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) golden jubilee celebration in Kathmandu on Monday.

On the occasion, high ranking government officials, foreign dignitaries, academicians, hotel entrepreneurs, students and stakeholders were present to mark the 'NATHM Day' with fervor.

Addressing the event, PM Dahal said, "I am very fortunate and honored to grace this special day of NATHM." Since its inception in 1972, NATHM has been relentlessly producing more than 60,000 manpower in the hospitality and tourism industry.

We have realized a need of separate Act to make this institution efficient. Thus, I have directed the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to move ahead the process of getting an Act approved by the parliament for developing NATHM as a tourism and hospitality university," Dahal shared.

Similarly, PM Dahal also urged the NATHM Board of Directors and Executive Director and all the stakeholders to work for obtaining quality assurance from the University Grant Commission (UGC) and ISO standard for international standards.

He also emphasized on strengthening incubation centres and providing opportunities to instructors and students through student-faculty exchange with universities and institutions in and outside the country.

On the occasion, PM Dahal honoured outstanding students, staffs and visiting faculty members serving over 10 years for their relentless contributions.
