KATHMANDU, JANUARY 15

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will be flying to Pokhara in the aftermath of the fatal crash of an ATR-72 plane belonging to Yeti Airlines in Pokhara of Kaski district today.

An emergency meeting is going on at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar following the crash and the Prime Minister will leave here for Pokhara after the meeting concludes, according to Prime Minister's press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma.

"The Prime Minister will probably visit the crash site," he said, adding that the PM would be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and senior officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and from the related field.

The plane had flown for Pokhara from Kathmandu at 10.33 am today and it crashed along the Seti River gorge. So far bodies of 32 people have been retrieved from the site and rescue efforts continue.
