KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 17

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed his commitment to modernize Nepal Police and establish it as an efficient, responsible, and influential organization on both national and international fronts.

He made this statement during a program held to commemorate the 68th Police Day at the Police Headquarters in Naxal on Tuesday.

PM Dahal praised the Nepal Police for earning international recognition due to its effective crime control and investigative efforts, despite operating with limited resources. He noted that the success of his government is closely linked to enhancing the capacity of this organization.

Furthermore, Dahal emphasized the government's belief in adopting a scientific approach to the moral development, mobilization, and coordination of police personnel. He stressed the importance of every member of the organization feeling dignified and dedicated to serving the country with self-respect. The PM also highlighted the government's commitment to treating all police personnel equally.

Dahal underscored the leadership's responsibility to maintain unity within the organization and boost the morale of police personnel. He directed the police to address the challenges posed by trans-border crimes, the rapid development of information technology, and globalization while also leveraging the opportunities provided by IT.

Acknowledging the emergence of new dimensions of crime with the advancement of IT, the PM instructed the Nepal Police to establish technology-friendly mechanisms for crime control and investigation.

PM Dahal also commended the Nepal Police for its contributions to peacekeeping missions in conflict-affected countries around the world.

He expressed the government's intent to enhance diplomatic efforts to increase the presence of Nepal's security forces, including the Nepal Police, in global peacekeeping endeavors in the future."
