Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the concerned authorities to take stringent measures to curb revenue leakage.
During a discussion today with representatives from relevant ministries and agencies at Singha Durbar, he instructed them to prevent activities such as cross-border smuggling, customs evasion, under-invoicing, and the improper granting of customs discounts, all of which contribute to revenue leakage.
He also urged them to devise a concrete plan to meet the revenue collection targets for the financial year and to maximize the state's revenue potential.
Present at the meeting were Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Liladevi Gadtaula, Secretaries from the Ministries of Home Affairs and Finance, the Inspector General of Nepal Police, the Inspector General of Armed Police, the Chief Investigation Officer of the National Investigation Department, the Director of the Revenue Investigation Department, and the Director General of the Customs Department.
