Annual reports tabled, Madhesi parties boycott House proceedings

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli tabled the 25th annual report of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), 2071/072 in the meeting of Legislature-Parliament on Wednesday.

Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel presented the annual report of the Attorney General, 2071/072.

Also on behalf of Minister for General Administration, Rekha Sharma, Minister Kharel presented the 55th annual report of the Public Service Commission, 2071/072.

Meanwhile, lawmakers from the Madhes-centric parties boycotted the House proceedings today also, accusing the government of being indifferent towards their demands.

Lawmaker Dimple Kumari Jha said the Madhes-centric parties had no option than protesting as their demands have gone unheeded despite the agitation in the Tarai-Madhes since long over certain provisions of the Constitution.

She demanded that the government immediately addressed the concerns of the Madhesi parties.

Lawmakers of the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, the Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party, the Sadbhawana Party, the Nepal Sadbhawana Party and the Tarai-Madhes Sadbhawana Party are among the parties they boycotted the meeting.
