PM, Landgren talk PLA fighters

KATHMANDU: UNMIN chief Karin Landgren called on Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Thursday morning.

According to sources, they held talks on the ongoing peace process and the integration and management of the PLA combatants. The PM asked Landgren to provide the actual numbers of the PLA fighters. In response, the UNMIN chief stated that it was beyond the mandate of her office to do so.

Landgren also met the chairman of the main opposition party UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday.
