PM Nepal leaves for NAM summit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal this morning left for 15th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit being held at Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt. The PM is accompanied by his wife Gayatri Nepal, political advisor Raghuji Panta, foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai and chief secretary Bhoj Raj Ghimire among others. Nepal is expected to meet Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh, Pakistani PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and other leaders on the sidelines of the summit. Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala is already in Egypt as she had left for Portugal on July 9 to take part at a ministerial level conference of comity of democracies. PM Nepal is expected to return to Nepal on July 18.
