Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today attended the 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

Addressing the meeting on the occasion of Industry and Commerce Day, PM Oli assured of altering the provisions that create hurdles in smooth functioning and growth of industries and businesses in the country.

The Prime Minister agreed that the pandemic had slowed down businesses, despite which, people had to continue with their livelihoods. "If we are not careful, we cannot guarantee that a second lockdown will not be brought into effect," he added, referring to the increasing cases of Covid-19.

PM Oli claimed that circumstance was favourable to carry out ventures related to industry and commerce in the country, and therefore, urged those in the sector to engage in industrial development.

Furthermore, he expressed his commitment in solving problems that may arise in the sector and encouraged positive relations among various parties including the government, business community, workers, among others.
