PM Dahal inspects Koteshwor-Satdobato-Kalanki road section

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed concern over delay in construction works along the Koteshwor-Satdobato-Kalanki road section.

Prime Minister Dahal's concerns came after the government and concerned agencies received numerous public complaints about the worst condition of the roads in the capital.

There were complaints galore from locals that the traffic congestion has affected the movement of vehicles, that life of the locals has been affected due to dust and pollution, that the contractors did not pay attention in expediting the road expansion projects.

Making the onsite visit of the road section today, the Prime Minister directed concerned bodiesĀ  to speed up the construction works, said PM's Press Advisor, Govinda Acharya.

In today's meeting of the Good Governance Committee under the Legislature-Parliament, PM's attention was drawn towards the problems faced by the people because of the dilapidated condition of roads in the capital city.

The drive is on to expand the road section to eight lanes with the assistance of the Chinese government.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over the poor state of the roads and the vehicles and construction materials rampantly kept on the road.
