Police arrest 30 Tibetans

KATHMANDU: Police arrested 30 Tibetan demonstrators in parts of the capital on Thursday.

According to the police, they have arrested 16 agitators from Sohrakhutte, two from Boudha, one from Maitidevi and rest from Gaushala. The demonstrators were distributing pamphlets of the Free Tibet movement. The Tibetans have been protesting for free Tibet from 50 years. Their spiritual leader Dalai Lama is in India in exile.

Meanwhile, China is celebrating its 60th anniversary of the communist system in the country.
