KATHMANDU, JUNE 19

A police constable was found dead with a bullet wound to his head in the premises of the Parliament in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Ajit Gole, 22, of Melung Rural Municipality-4, Dolakha. Gole was deployed for the security of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

According to preliminary reports, he reportedly died by suicide using his own service weapon, the police said.

His body was discovered this morning at around 8:00 AM in a toilet near Gate 2 in the western part of the parliament building, Chief of Kathmandu Police Basanta Rajaure was quoted as saying by RSS.

Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
