Police detain 36 protestors

KATHMANDU: The police detained 36 protestors in the capital on Friday while they were trying to organise a sit-in protest against the Supreme Court's decision to direct the Vice President to take a fresh oath in the Nepali language.

Three Madhes-based parties and three Madhes-based student unions were protesting in front of the SC. They were held at the Nepal Police Club (Mahendra Police Club), Exhibition Road after being detained. Terai Madhes Democratic Party boycotted the Constitutional Committee election accusing the government of using force against its party members.
