Police to probe Paras’ manhandling of on-duty cop
Kathmandu, August 19
Police said they would investigate to find out what actually happened today at Tribhuvan International Airport, where a video of a visibly angry former crown prince Paras Shah was seen pushing an on-duty airport security officer.
The video had gone viral in social media.
Sailesh Thapa Chhetri, Deputy Inspector General at Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari said, “We have asked Airport police to investigate internally to find out what had actually happened there today and report it to them.” He further said further action would be taken on the basis of the report.
Sub-inspector Ishwor Khatri, who Paras briefly manhandled, has not filed any complaint.
A high-level police source said Khatri had not taken any action as he was well aware of the situation. It is reported that Shah had gone to the airport to bid farewell his mother and former queen Komal Shah, who was leaving for Bangkok.
