KATHMANDU, MARCH 21

Chairperson of CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has emphasized that politics should prioritize the prosperity of the country and its people.

Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Utpidit Dalit Jatiya Mukti Samaj on the occasion of the 59th International Day for the Elimination of Racism and Racial Discrimination at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, on Thursday, he asserted that the democratic republic is merely a tool for politics, and the ultimate aim of politics is the happiness and prosperity of all mankind.

Chairperson Oli emphasized that politics serves as a means to achieve a robust economy and prosperity. He stressed that politics should be geared towards societal advancement, progress, equality, law and order, transparency, and respect.

He underscored the belief that no one is inherently superior or inferior based on factors such as color, caste, wealth, religion, or nobility.

According to him, all individuals are born equal and free. "Only karma can lead to responsibility, but no one is inherently superior or inferior. There is no room for untouchability," he affirmed.

Chairperson Oli stated that the UML is not confined to any specific geography, religion, caste, or community, emphasizing that the communist movement champions equality and human freedom.

Additionally, as a former Prime Minister, he highlighted that the Communist Party of Nepal spearheaded a movement against caste discrimination by establishing the Oppressed Caste Utthan Manch in 2045 BS, stressing that caste-based discrimination can be eradicated through organization and empowerment of the Dalit community.

He expressed the UML's commitment to capacity building and ensuring equal participation of all communities, including Dalits.
