Poll code violation slur on deputy speaker, NTV boss

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Tuesday asked Deputy Speaker Ganga Prasad Yadav to come clean on charges of violation of election code of conduct within 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by EC Spokesperson Nabaraj Dhakal, a complaint was lodged against Yadav for using vehicles bearing Indian number plates while campaigning in the third phase of local level elections in Saptari district, violating the code of conduct.

The EC also directed NTV Executive Chairman Dahal to clarify within 24 hours why he took part in a programme organised by the Nepali Congress.
