Prachanda in line of rights body’s fire

Kathmandu, February 15:

The Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) today strongly condemned the remarks of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who recently called the People’s Liberation Army to be ready for another war in the country.

HURON chairman Sudip Pathak has vehemently criticised the PM for delivering such remarks to provoke those who are against the system.

“This is very serious and against the Constitution, existing law of the land and the democratic values and norms. The PM’s remarks were unreasonable and unsuitable to the context of democracy and human rights,” the HURON said in a press statement.

On February 12, PM Prachanda gave the remarks while inaugurating a PLA’s function in Nawalparasi, and he also called the party workers to be ready for the next revolution at a programme in Lalitpur on February 14.

“This mentality will force the country into further confusion and anarchy,” the statement added.
