Prachanda to address meet

Kathmandu, November 6:

CPN-Maoist chairman Prachanda will be delivering a “historic” speech of “national importance” on November 10 in Kathmandu, according to party spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

Prachanda is scheduled to make his first public appearance in 25 years when he addresses a “huge gathering” at the Open Air Theatre.

Mahara told a press conference here today that the mass meeting would be organised at the Nepali Army’s pavilion at Tundikhel.

Meanwhile, the second national convention of the Maoist-affiliated Newa Rastriya Mukti Morcha (Newa National Liberation Front), which was scheduled to be held from November 11-13 in Kathmandu, has been postponed due to “technical” reasons. The meeting will now be held on February 9-11.

According to Pawan Man Shrestha, the president of the Front, the decision to postpone the meeting was taken in a central working committee meeting of the Front.
