KATHMANDU, MAY 1

President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shekhar Golchha has said that many things remain to be done to ensure sustainable and reliable labour relations in the country. He, however, said that the issues of labour relations were improving.

Addressing a programme organised by Joint Trade Union Coordination Committee on the occasion of the 132nd International May Day today, Golchha stressed the need tor prioritise the issues of investment promotion, employment creation, entrepreneurship development and improving labour relations.

Golchha was of the opinion that the second wave of COVID-19 had added to the woes of the private sector at a time when there was a glimmer of hope after the government launched the vaccination drive.

He said, "We have urged the all to continue with the economic activities by being sensitive to health issues. There is no option but to continue our work by reducing health risks."

Likewise, FNCCI Vice-president Ram Chandra Sanghai called for dealing with the crisis in the present situation created by the pandemic.

He argued that all should cooperate and work in coordination to reduce the impact of factory closures on workers.
