KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has congratulated the new King of the Kingdom of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun , for his accession to the throne.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Bhandari in a message today also expressed the confidence that the country would achieve further progress and prosperity under the visionary stewardship of King Bodindradebayavarangkun.

"Nepal and Thailand enjoy strong and multifaceted relationship based on trust, mutual understanding and cooperation," the statement quoted the President's message, "The relations between the two countries will grow from strength to strength during his reign."
