KATHMANDU, MARCH 22

President Bidya Devi Bhandari left for a two-day state visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of her Bangladeshi counterpart President Abdul Hamid, on Monday.

The President departed for the Dhaka, the Bangladeshi capital, in a Nepal Airlines flight, this morning.

VIce-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota and other high ranking officials of Nepal had reached the Tribhuvan International Airport to see Bhandari off.

President Bhandari is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Gyawali and over four dozen other people in the visit.

It has been learnt that the Bangladeshi President will himself receive President Bhandari at the airport.

During her stay, the president will hold several high level bilateral meetings including those with Bangladeshi President Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena.
