President Bhandari leaves for Myanmar
KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has left for her five-day state visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on the friendly invitation of her Burmese counterpart Win Myint today.
President Bhandari is accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Secretary at the Office of the President, other high ranking officials, and media persons.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Ishwor Pokhrel, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) parliamentary party deputy-leader Subash Nembang and Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa were present at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport to see off the President.
Similarly, ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, government high-ranking officials and representatives from diplomatic missions in Kathmandu were also present on the occasion.
A contingent of Nepali Army presented a guard of honour to the President on the occasion
President Bhandari and the delegation is reported to return home on October 20.
