Press Council awards six journos
KATHMANDU: Press Council Nepal has decided to confer this year's Press Council Gopaldas Journalism Award on senior journalist Harihar Birahi, former chairman of the council. The award carries a purse of Rs 40,000.
Similarly, the Press Council Literary Award will be conferred on Mohan Duwal of Kavre in recognition of his contribution to literary journalism. The award comprises a purse of Rs 30,000. Likewise, the Press Council Literary Column Writing Award with a purse of Rs 20,000 will be presented to Govinda Bartaman. The Press Council Language Journalism Award which carries a purse of Rs 30,000 is to be given away to the Simanchal daily. Kailali-based working journalist Logsari Kunwar will get the Women's Empowerment Journalism Award that carries a purse of Rs 20,000. Radio Sagarmatha has won the award that carries a purse of Rs 40,000, the Council stated. — RSS
