The 12th National Population Census formally kicked off today with collection of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari's personal details.
Enumerators of the Central Bureau of Statistics reached the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas this morning and inaugurated the National Population Census 2021 by gathering statistics related to the president's family.
CBS director general Nebin Lal Shrestha said the National Population Census 2021 was formally inaugurated by gathering statistics about the president's family.
According to him, the president was asked the 80 questions included in the questionnaire of the Census.
After the president gave her details. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba participated in the 12th National Census.
Enumerators reached the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar today to collect details of the prime minister and his family.
Central Bureau of Statistics Director Dhundiraj Lamichhane told the media that the prime minister's participation in the national census had sent a positive message about the event to the public.
He said the family details of the president and the prime minister were taken to give a symbolic message that the population census is for all and to encourage people to be part of this mega campaign.
According to Director Lamichhane, the Bureau's director general's team was there at Baluwatar to conduct the census of the prime minister's family. The National Planning Commission's secretary briefed the prime minister about the Census and its impact on every sector.
The 12th National Census kicked off today with the collection of details of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, which was followed by the participation of the prime minister.
During the 15-day campaign concluding on November 25, enumerators are making home visits of people to gather the details demanded by the Census.
Meanwhile, the member secretary of National Planning Commission and office-bearers of Central Bureau of Statistics reached Lainchaur-based Haritgriha, Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun's official residence, and collected the details his personal details as well as details of his family members today.
NPC member Ram Kumar Phunyal, Secretary Kebal Prasad Bhandari, Director General of the Bureau Nebin Lal Shrestha, and directors Hemraj Regmi, Dilliraj Joshi and Dhundiraj Lamichhane had reached the vice president's official residence.
Director General Shrestha and enumerators collected the family and personal details of the vice-President.
After providing his personal and family and personal details to the enumerators, Vice-president Pun wished for the success of the National Population Census, 2021.
NPC member Phunyal thanked Vice-president Pun for providing the details by participating in the National Census.
