UPDATE: Prime Minister undergoes successful appendectomy

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has undergone a surgical procedure for appendicitis this afternoon.

According to the Prime Minister's press adviser, Surya Thapa, the appendectomy was successfully completed at 12:45 pm at Manmohan Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Transplant Centre under the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, in the capital city.

A team of doctors including Dr Ramesh Singh and Dr Divya Singh had carried out the surgery, stated Thapa.

Prime Minister admitted to hospital

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been admitted to Manmohan Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Transplant Centre under the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in the capital city.

"The Prime Minister has been admitted to the Manmohan Centre," confirmed Surya Thapa, PM's press adviser.

It has been learnt that the Prime Minister is suffering from appendicitis and preparations are going on for the surgery. Thapa, however, stated that doctors are yet to confirm the diagnosis.
