Prime Minister calls on GP Koirala

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today called on Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala at the latter’s residence at Maharajgunj.

Nepal met Koirala amid widespread speculation that the relation between the two leaders has been soured.

According to Bishnu Rijal, PM’s press advisor, the two leaders held a brief discussion owing to Koirala’s ill health. Rijal dismissed the rumour that Koirala had refused to meet PM Nepal. “I’ll see you once you regain health,” Rijal quoted Nepal as telling Koirala during the meeting.

Talking to journalists following the meeting, the PM said that he would meet later as Koirala was not in good health.” Koirala is suffering from fever and lung infection. He has been given oxygen and advised to take rest for few days.
