Prince Harry visiting Nepal in March-end

Kathmandu, January 15

British Prince Harry is all set to visit Nepal for two days in late March.

Sources said Prince Harry will be arriving in Kathmandu on March 20, although both the British and Nepali sides have yet to confirm the visit officially.

“The British side has communicated to us that the royalty will be visiting Nepal from March 20 to 21”a top source privy to the correspondence told The Himalayan Times, seeking anonymity. “Now, we have begun preparations to welcome him.”

Last week, Kensington Palace had confirmed Prince Harry would be visiting Nepal this spring, saying the details of his itinerary would be worked out later.

The prime minister’s Foreign Relations Expert Gopal Khanal said though he has heard about Prince Harry’s visit in March, he has no idea exactly when he is landing.

A foreign ministry official said the British royal will be meeting President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and also making an observation trip of quake-affected areas and going for trek. Details of his itinerary have not been released due to security reasons.

Nepal has hoped the British royalty’s visit will help revive Nepal’s tourism, which has gone down following the devastating April 25 quake and subsequent aftershocks.
