KATHMANDU, JANUARY 10

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal has acknowledged Prithvi Narayan Shah, the unifier of modern Nepal, as a respected guardian of all Nepali people.

Speaking at a programme organised by Nepal Academy to mark the 299th birth anniversary of Shah today, Minister Dhakal argued that all Nepalis would remember Shah forever for his contributions to national unification.

Minister Dhakal opined that Shah had contributed a lot to safeguard Nepal’s national sovereignty at a critical time.

He stressed the need to promote various places linked with Prithvi Narayan Shah’s life and contributions as cultural and historical touristic sites.

Similarly, Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti said following Shah’s footprints would be the real tribute to him.
