Probe into teachers fake certificates

KATHMANDU: Talks held between agitating students, representatives from Department of Education, Kathmandu District Education Office, Teachers Service Commission and other stakeholders today decided to form a seven-member committee to investigate fake experience letter provided by private schools.

The students had been alleging that some people were filling the teachers’ teaching license exam form by submitting fake experience letter.

Talking to The Himalayan Times, Birat Singh, a member of the talk said that the committee would be under the coordination of a member of District Education Committee recommended by Local Development Office. Similarly two students from Faculty of Education, a representative each from District Education Office, Nepal Teachers Union, Institutional School Teachers Union and District Administration Office.

Meanwhile, a two-member students’ team would also be deployed in various eight districts namely Kathmandu, Kaski, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Morang, Dhanusha, Banke and Kailali to monitor fake experience letter, he added.
